Last Sunday I listened to an Evangelical Minister speak on the discussion that took place between Jesus and Peter in Matthew 16: 13, pertaining to Jesus question to Peter. "But whom do you say that I am"?
Here is the gist of my letter to him.
I was astounded at your lack of insight pertaining to that extremely important 'conversation'. You spent quite some time explaining to your congregation that the name Peter meant a 'rock'. He was not referring to Peter when He said, "Upon this rock I will build my Church". He was referring to this TRUTH! Man and God, are ONE! The "I" within us is the Father! (When we realize that the "I" within us is the Father, we begin to take upon ourselves the likeness of the Father. It is that likeness that is the Christ! The Father and the son are ONE!) When He said 'and thou art Peter', He meant that 'Peter' saw himself as being 'Peter'! All 'men' function in an illusion! How many times have I said that NO "MAN" ON EARTH (No John or Jane Doe) HAS ANY BEING? There is ONLY GOD! He made us in His Image and likeness, by 'becoming' us, by 'being' us, but He did not create the 'person' we believe ourselves to be! Our parents did that when they named us at our birth! God is the "I" within us! (A 'branch' is but an extension of the vine!) What I am trying to get you to see, is that Peter had no idea that Jesus 'was not referring to himself' (Jesus) when He asked "Whom do men say that "I" the son of man am'? He was referring to the "I" within every 'man/woman' on Planet Earth! EVERY MAN OR WOMAN ON EARTH IS GOD (THE FATHER) EMBODIED, BUT NO ONE REALIZES THIS! GOD IS THE "I" WITHIN EACH OF US! It was this that caused Him to say to 'Peter' "And upon this rock (this truth) I will build my Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it! Every 'man' on Earth, is God embodied, but virtually no one, believes this! He is the "I" within us! And the Spiritual Rebirth as promoted by the Evangelical Churches of the World, IS ERRONEOUS! It can NEVER enable us to 'enter' the Kingdom of God (To attain the Christ Mind) Only when we see (spiritually speaking) that the "I" within us is God (the Father), can we 'enter' His Kingdom, (can we attain His 'State of Mind'!)
Every 'human' child that has ever been born on Planet Earth, has been God (the Father) in the infant stage of development, but as I said, virtually no one has ever realized this. It was this that the Holy Spirit revealed to Mary (When the Holy Ghost came upon her). It was this she taught her 'forth coming' son (whom she was instructed to name 'Jesus') Mary experienced the Spiritual Rebirth... the realization that the "I" within each of us is God! This 'birth' (the Virgin birth) took place in Mary's consciousness! (Not in her 'womb'!) It was not 'Jesus' she gave birth to; she gave birth to God (the Father) in the infant stage of development! It was this she taught her son that inspired Him to walk AS the Father. This was why He said, when He grew up, "I" and my Father, are One! God is the "I" within each of us! That we might realize this, has been Gods Eternal quest concerning humanity from the day He created man! That we might come to realize this, was why He suffered the agony of the cross. He did not come to take upon Himself our sins and die in our stead. He came to show us what manner of beings we are, but no one got the message! He came to show us that man and God are One (that man is God embodied!)
He also mentioned that 'things seem unrealistic, as things are only getting worse'. To which I replied 'And they will continue to do so, until we realize that we are all one!' And to him, the purpose of the Church is to lead us to Christ (He sees 'Jesus' as being 'Christ'). He is definitely not aware that 'Jesus' was just the name given to Mary's boy child, 'the Father', (in the infant stage of development)
That we might come to realize that God is the "I" within each of us, is the true purpose of the Church!
And this Sunday he continued on in the same chapter. This time, he concentrated on something else that Jesus said. His disciples were charged to 'tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ' and that the 'self' must die in order for us to partake in Gods eternal reality, and that it was for this reason that He (Jesus) had to suffer the agony of the cross, and that we too must choose to make Christ first in our lives. (How close he is to finding the key) It is true, that we must die as the person we believe ourselves to be, in order to 'enter' Gods Kingdom (in order to attain a consciousness of Oneness) the Christ Mind! BUT WE ARE UNABLE TO DO SO! WHY? Because the person we believe ourselves to be, is but the illusion in which the Whole of Humanity is walking! GOD is, and always has been, the reality of Humanity! God is What and Who every 'human being' on Earth is! HE IS THE "I" WITHIN US! WE must realize this! We don't have to 'become' God, we just have to realize that that is what we already are, and always have been! Only we 'think' we are this 'person' our parents created when they named us at our birth! The Spiritual Rebirth that the Evangelical Churches of the World are promoting, IS ERRONEOUS! Through their concept of the Spiritual Rebirth, we can NEVER die to self! Only when we realize that the "I" within us is God (the Father), can we die to self! And that is because the person we believe ourselves to be is but the illusion in which the entire World is 'walking'! THERE IS ONLY THE FATHER! WE (the person we believe ourselves to be), don't even exist! WE just came into being when our parents named us at our birth. WE... are but illusions! Every human child that has ever been born on Planet Earth, has been (And always will be) the Father in the infant stage of development! (From birth to death, whether we realize this or not) Mary did not give birth to 'Jesus'. She gave birth to the Spirit of God (the Father) disguised as a 'baby' (as a 'human being'!) It was this she taught her son from the cradle. It was this she saw 'when the 'Holy Ghost' came upon her. She had experienced the Spiritual Rebirth. She saw that God was the reality of man! She saw that man and God, were one and the same!
We cannot be 'born again', until we realize that the "I" within us is God! Only then can we see that this 'person' we believe ourselves to be is but the illusion in which we have been living. When we see that the "I" within us, is God (the Father), we begin to take upon ourselves the likeness of the Father. It is that likeness that is the Christ! These are the keys to the Kingdom of God! But 'Jesus' got no one to see this! He was unable to persuade them to believe that they too were God individualized! WE, don't have to experience the agony of the cross in order to 'die to self', (in order to walk As God, as He did) We have but to acknowledge Him (the Father) as our reality and choose to walk As Him! In that consciousness, we need never die. Therein lies our eternal salvation!
Had Peter seen this, the Popes would then have had to attain the Christ Mind in order to qualify for the highest position in the Catholic faith! And for 2000 years men have failed to see it. They continue to believe that it was 'Jesus of Nazareth' who was the Christ. They have failed to discover that it is the Father (the "I" within them) that is the Christ. (There is no one besides, or other than the Father!) As I have previously said, 'Humanity has been seeking God since the fall, never realizing that He is the "I" within every one, the reality of every one. Nor have they ever seen that the 'person' their parents created when they named them at their birth, is but the Satan they were told to beware of.
Is it any wonder that Jesus wept?
