From the creation of 'Adam', men had absolutely no idea that they were God embodied, that God was the "I" within them. This is what has kept the World in darkness for all these years. And then came the story of the birth of 'Jesus'. And still no one realized that 'man' was God embodied. None of Jesus disciples knew that God was their reality. They saw themselves as being the person their parents created when they named them. They most definitely functioned in a consciousness of duality! In 1 John we read, 'Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit', indicating that they believed there was God AND us, when in fact there is Only God. He, is us! But they believed their salvation lay in acknowledging Jesus as their Lord and savior, never ever realizing that their salvation lay in 'knowing' that the 'I' within them, was God, the Father, their real self, (as Jesus knew)! Nor has any of the Worlds Churches realized mans relationship to God, even though Jesus said that what He did, we can do also. And all because of an erroneous concept of the Virgin Birth and the Spiritual Rebirth.
Here are the thoughts and written words of Norman Grubb, a well-known Evangelical Minister, taken from 1 John.
He (John) says over four times, we are to be exactly as Jesus is. What are we to make of that? Not much sinful imperfection about that one is there? It says in the first chapter twice over I John 1:7, "we are to walk in the light as He is in the light," that is absolute light." In the second chapter, "Whosoever says he abides in Him ought himself so to walk even as he walked," exactly as Jesus walked on earth. That's I John 2:6. I John 3:7 says, "He that doeth righteousness is righteous even as He is righteous," and it says also, "whosoever hath this hope in him purifieth himself even as He is pure." I John 3:3. Righteous as He is righteous; pure as He is pure; in the light as He is in the light; walking as He walks. And the fourth one is beyond all-it is linked with perfect love. That's where John comes to perfection. He says in I John 4:17, "Herein is our love made perfect;" not, "ought to be," or "might be," but "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness I n the day of judgment." And he goes on to the statement "As he is so are we." What do you think of that one? (End of quote)
And still the Worlds Churches have failed to see it! I have said that men search for God, never realizing that He is the "I" within them, and never realizing that the person their parents created when they named them, is the Satan they were warned to beware of. Jesus was also tempted. Not by a 'devil', but by His 'outer' self! He knew that He could create bread to feed the multitudes, but this was not the food that humanity required. They needed to be fed the Word of God. They needed to come to the knowledge of being Gods! He was also well aware that He could have the whole World worship Him, but that too was not His purpose! His purpose was to show the World that God (the Father) was the reality of every man/woman on the planet! Humanity was not meant to worship 'Jesus', they are meant to walk AS the Father, for the Father is the "I" within us! Jesus knew that He was the Father manifesting as a 'man' ("I" and the Father are One, He said!) And He knew that so too was every other man or woman on Planet Earth! And at no time did He falter or deviate from that purpose! (At no time did He tempt the lord!)
That humanity might see this, was the purpose for His coming some 2000 years ago. Facilitated through the revelation given to the Virgin Mary, through what has been described as the Virgin Birth! This 'birth', did not take place with the birth of 'Jesus'. It took place in Mary's consciousness, through an 'awakening', a 'revelation' as it were, Initiated by the Truth (the Holy Spirit!) A realization that God was the reality of every man or woman on Planet Earth! Through a realization that God is the "I" within everyone, the reality of every one! It was this that she passed on to her son! It was through His faith in this Truth that inspired Him to 'walk' AS the father! It was in this consciousness that He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind and fed the multitudes. It was, thanks to this consciousness, that He experienced the transfiguration and the ascension. And He said that we could do the things that He did, if we 'walked in the Light as He was in the Light". He walked by faith, in the belief that He and the Father were One. We too can do so, once we see that the "I" within us, is God (the Father.)
