The greatest message ever told ~ by our heavenly Father no less ~ is ~ "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believeth in me ~ though he were dead, yet shall he live. And He who liveth and believeth in me shall never die!"
As I sat on a bench in the park in my back yard, I thought of what inspired us spiritually. When a well-spoken Minister gives his congregation an inspiring message on their Spiritual beliefs ~ regardless of their beliefs ~ it feeds his congregations Spiritual needs. In turn ~ their enthusiasm feeds the Ministers enthusiasm (and his ego), resulting in a contented ~ happy and growing congregation! Yet the greatest message ever given by a Spiritual teacher known as Jesus of Nazareth, fell on non comprehending ears ~ resulting in characterizing Him as the man of sorrows. I have come to realize that you cannot 'convert' the sheep ~ you must first convert the Shepherd!
As they have hated me ~ so shall they hate you He said! For this same message, is no more believed today than it was when He walked through Galilee some 2100 years ago.
The following is a song composed and sung by Philip Bliss:
Hallelujah! What a savior.
Man of Sorrows! What a name
For the Son of God who came,
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
"Full atonement!" Can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Lifted up was He to die;
"It is finished!" was His cry;
Now in Heav'n exalted high.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song we'll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
